Underwood Engineers has extensive experience in all aspects of wastewater collection, pumping, and treatment. Underwood has been responsible for the design, construction and startup of dozens of wastewater treatment facilities for municipalities large and small.
Our clients include wastewater treatment systems in Somersworth, NH, Lebanon, NH, Hanover, NH, Kennebunk, ME, and Berwick, ME. Our work includes unique groundwater systems as well including Crotched Mountain Rehabilitation Center in Greenfield, NH, Mt. Washington summit building disposal system as well as other challenging groundwater systems.
Underwood has experience with Biological Nutrient Removal systems. Underwood has piloted, designed, and/or started up over 10 wastewater systems that have BNR. In fact, Underwood has many firsts including: the first BNR system installed in New Hampshire (Somersworth) and the first large scale Sequencing Batch Reactor in New Hampshire (Pease, Portsmouth).
Our design team works closely with our geotechnical, mechanical, structural and electrical engineering partners to provide full service solutions to our clients.
We have experience in finding cost-effective and innovative ways to remove infiltration and inflow (I/I). In fact, we have been a leader in the State when dealing with private I/I removal.
